I can only wear silver earrings

We hear this almost daily "I can only wear silver earrings", mostly due to a large percentage of the population having a Nickel allergy. You have probably worn silver comfortably for many of years, after wearing cheaper alternatives... but have you noticed that jewellery changing colour? 925 silver (often stamped as 925) is made of 92.5% pure silver and 7.5% trace metals. It is usually alloyed with copper, a metal that is well-tolerated by the vast majority of skin types, with an allergy rate of 10-15% across the population. However silver tarnishes, leaving black discolored jewellery, this tarnishing is not be pretty. On the other hand, cheaper silver jewellery is often mixed with mystery metals which can cause oxidation, leaving green staining to the skin. This is known as Argyria and can be permanent. As piercers that have been in business for well over a decade, we only pierce with highly biocompatible tried and tested materials. Usually titanium is the go to base material, with an allergy rate of as little as 0.6% across the population. A stable, strong material that will last a lifetime, titanium is virtually hypoallergenic (has a greatly lower allergy rate than silver). I personally have never seen a titanium allergy. See Claire's Titanium blog here Titanium comes in various designs, featuring an array of different gemstones. You can also fit solid Gold attachments to the wearable titanium part of the jewellery, meaning you can have the ideal blended balance of elegant gold show pieces and the support and comfort of a titanium wearable post.

No butterflies here just long term comfort

Here is a picture of a Labret stud, the flat disk is worn at the back of the piercing:
